Why is sleep so important?
Sleeping … it’s something we all do, every night of our lives. It would be so easy for us to take it for granted but sleep is way too important for us to make this mistake. There are things we can do to ensure the best night’s sleep possible. We will be explaining just why good sleep is essential for our overall health and our ability to function properly during waking hours.
Sleeping is vital for our growth and development. You have a great eight hours sleep with sweet dreams and you wake up in the morning feeling refreshed and raring to go...or do you? For some, it’s the exact opposite. For them, it’s a night of tossing and turning and nightmares which leaves them feeling fuzzy-headed, tired and grumpy in the morning.
Don’t under-estimate the consequences of not getting enough good sleep. It has an impact on the memory and motor neurons and affects your reactions the following day. It makes you slower and less capable of decision-making and rational thought.
